Questions? answers

What should I expect when I come to West Hills? Hopefully many of the questions below will help you have a better idea as to who we are and what we are about. Our goal is to be an authentic community of people that are transparent with our lives as we seek out what it means to follow Jesus as individuals but also corporately.

What kinds of people make up West Hills?
All kinds. We are a diverse community in many ways. Scripture teaches us that we are one body, with many parts. This means diversity should be and will always be a value of our church. We seek to use scripture as our basis for living and encourage everyone who attends to first discover where they are in their own faith journey, then to look forward into where they would like to go. We seek to not conform to culture but to conform to Jesus. Skeptics? We have them. New Christians? Yep. Long-time believers? We have some of them too. Many people at many stages. Our one hope is no matter what stage we find ourselves in to strive to learn and grow in our understanding of Christ and His redemptive plan for our lives.

What if I'm not sure church is for me? This is why we are first a community. We provide a safe, comfortable environment to help you feel welcome and relaxed.  We are an inclusive group of people that will do everything in our power to help you realize church isn't for the "put-together" but for those who realize their need for love, healing and relationship.

What does a West Hills Sunday morning look like?
The preaching and teaching is biblical and scripture based. The community is warm and welcoming. The programs are fun and engaging. The greeters like to hug (only if you don't mind!). The worship through song is reflective and powerful. The love is huge and the coffee is fresh.

What will the preaching cover?
This depends on the series. We may be working our way through a book of the Bible such as Ephesians, we may park on a topic for a few weeks such as forgiveness or community or spend time leaning about different Christian doctrines. No matter what we cover, the teaching and preaching is dynamic, engaging and focused on truth.

What is the dress code?
Um. The "dress code" is non-existent at West Hills as long as you believe in clothes. You will find everything from full on suits to jeans and a t-shirt. Be who you are.

What time do services start?
We have a 9:15 a.m. service (a bit toned down) and an 11 a.m. service. Each service runs for about an hour and a quarter.

What about my kids?ʉ۬We love them so bring them. During both services we have an excellent Kids program that they will be quite excited about. Students? Middle School and High School programs run during the 9:15 a.m. service only, for more info on our student programs click here. For more info on our Kids programs click here

Does West Hills have any affiliations? Yes. We are a part of Converge Worldwide (Baptist General Conference), you can click here for more information. We are an interdenominational church (meaning we have people from many church denominations). For more on what we believe click here.
