Clunkers for Christ
Clunkers for Christ is a ministry of West Hills Community Church designed to perform free regular car maintenance and minor repairs. When a family or individual struggles financially, routine maintenance or "that Check Engine light" are often the things families choose ignore. The results can be devastating, both for safety and a family's ability to get to and from work.
Because Clunkers' services are limited, a pre-assessment process is used to help the greatest number with the greatest need. Please fill out this form to aid in this process. Clunkers can help by:
- Providing free labor (parts are usually paid for by the individual) for routine or regular maintenance and repairs
- Referring all other maintenance and repairs to participating auto repair facilities who will discount the work
- Teaching vehicle owners how to work on their own vehicle (oil change, tune up, brakes)
- Providing referrals to other St. Louis ministries and social work organizations
To process a Clunkers for Christ request, please make sure you meet the following requirements:
- You have need -- you are unable to purchase or perform on your own
- You have signed a waiver - click here to view and print
- Your work is necessary - maintenance to keep the car running properly and operating safely
- Your work is routine or regular -- this type of work falls into these categories:

- Diagnostic (lights on dash indicate there is a problem)
- Tires
- Brake pads and rotors
- Oil Changes, top off fluids
- Tune-ups (fuel filter, plugs, wires)
